JUSTICE AND PEACE BUILDING
Prior to 2015, Burkina Faso was a mix of religions including African religions, Christianity, and Islam, and we lived together peacefully. After the 2016 terrorist attacks, the political instability caused people to use religious reasons to discriminate against each other, which is a major problem in the country. Part of AES’ work is to help educate women on how to live peacefully in the context we find ourselves in.

Workshops
To promote peace building, we hold workshops and invite guest speakers knowledgeable in these topics to come and share with us. We gather women leaders and teach them to know that they are created in the image of God and have value before God and thus deserve to be treated with dignity and respect. We promote educational justice to enable young women to thrive in their communities and be full participants, not merely blind followers of others’ decisions.

Camps
Once a year, we also hold a week-long camp where we educate young women on biblical values, entrepreneurship, environment care, health, and equip them to live peacefully in their communities.
